When most people get to 50, they start to think about slowing down. Not our client, Neil Furminger, who, along with two friends, is taking up the challenge of rowing The Atlantic Ocean.
Neil, Steve and Matt, aged between 47 and 57, are putting in months of training to prepare for the gruelling 3,000-mile journey due to take place this December. As part of the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge, they will leave the Canary Islands to tackle 40-foot waves across the ‘World’s Toughest Row’.
When Neil asked us to get involved, it was a challenge right up our street, especially as they are looking to raise £50,000 for Prostate Cancer UK and Wolo Foundation, which helps families going through their cancer journey. So, we became a sponsor for their endeavour to help them reach their goal.
Tony McLeman, Fleet And Commercial Insurance Director, said,
“When Neil first approached us with this crazy idea, we knew he was deadly serious. We also knew that if anyone could do this, Neil and his team would be up for the challenge. The Cancer charities the guys are raising for are also close to our hearts, as all too often we know people who have battled cancer.
“We are really looking forward to seeing their adventure unfold, albeit from the safety of the office. We are glad to be able to help and wish Neil and the guys all the luck in the world for December.”
